I have never given fiction writing a serious try. It’s just that when I read a novel that I really enjoy (right now it’s Dragonfly in Amber book 2 in the “Outlander” series by Gabaldon) I think, “I could never have written this!” and so don’t even try. And that’s OK since the world has enough bad fiction as it is, lol!

But I do dream of a life where I can read at will, go to the library at will and write whenever and whatever I want to. Then I realized that, aside from having the responsibility of my home and family, I can do all of those things almost whenever I want to right now! Because I took the time to learn about cash gifting. Since I like to write, and know more than just a little about Internet marketing, I knew I could do well with this. But what about others? I didn’t want a gifting program that was costly and complicated to get started for those I shared it with.

With most gifting programs I’ve found, there are numerous upfront fees on top of usually having to give up your first gifts to your inviter (called a 1-up system). I have participated in that type of program and they are fine if you have the money. But what I wanted to find was something that just about anyone can get started with without a huge outlay in fees that can add up very quickly, and with a built-in residual effect. I know that with the economy as it is and the recovery slower than any in history, more already busy people are going to be looking for a way to make money at home.

Recently I was fortunate enough to find a cash gifting system that doesn’t require you to know how to do your own promotion (can yo say time-saver??), or to pay out wads of cash for a website and participation in the system. In fact, this system has one small yearly admin fee of $50.

When I first came across cash gifting last year and decided to participate, I was excited about the idea of simple gifting and eager to get started sharing it with others. But then something happened that took the wind out of my sails so to speak. I have a blog about MLM where I wrote about the program, and a “professional” mlmer contacted me to tell me that I seemed like a nice person but that cash gifting was illegal and I should stop immediately before I got into trouble.

She later accused me of not caring about the people I introduced to CG and not being willing to stop because I was making money. Neither were true as I had just begun when she arrived on the scene and had not even received one single gift yet. And I do care about others which is why I’m doing this and not MLM. That will PO more than a few people I know but here’s the deal:

I spent thousands and thousands of dollars chasing the network marketing dream over the past 20 years. With about $3000 total income over that time. It’s embarrassing to admit it, but there you go. Truth be told, I’m in good company because most never make real money in MLM. For fun I’ll post a list of the companies I was with in another post (to keep this one from getting too long).

So for my own peace of mind I had to make sure that I wasn’t breaking the law. I wrote this post on my other cash gifting blog and don’t intend to re-write it all again here. Suffice to say that because true cash gifting has no resemblance to these schemes I also wrote about, I am positive that I am in no way breaking any law.

So then she moved on the moral aspects of gifting which coming from a pro MLMer I found ironic and laughable. That’s for another post.

Back to this new program I just joined. The main program has 3 gifting levels ranging from $500, $1,500 and $3,500. Each level is designed so that you receive residual cash gifts from everyone that joins after you do, with no 1-up. They will also advertise for you for your first month free, and thereafter for a fee. And that’s the only fee, and it’s optional.

I love that aspect because not everyone wants to learn Internet marketing, or figure out advertising on their own. Get all of the details here:

Well, not being one to knowingly break the law, I put in a call to my state’s District Attorney’s office and also to the FTC to ask if cash gifting was illegal. I posted my findings on my old blog and you can read about it here: “My Cash GiftingQuest for Answers: Illegal or Not?”

I stopped gifting for awhile last year because the program I chose changed and they began implementing large admin and monthly fees that I thought were excessive. I kept looking for something though and checked out a few MLM opportunities but I just can not go there again. I have a MLM blog as well, and posted about a new (at the time) company that pretty well sums up how I feel about MLM these days: MLM Work At Home

Basically I have spent thousands to be involved with so-called legitimate network marketing home based businesses – the ones that charge you to become a rep and then force you to buy $50 or $100 or more in products per month to “qualify” for your commissions, if you manage to sell anything.

I would always be very excited and optimistic at the beginning. I did what I was told to do and had some minor success but never the massive residual income that entices most to try it in the first place. But after my last try with ITV Ventures which went out of business just as I was starting to make money, I have said “NO MORE!”

That said, I know that there are many who do cash gifting and MLM, and I’m not saying there is anything wrong with that. It is just that mlm has not been a good fit for me. I have made money with cash gifting – I have lost it with MLM. Seems a simple conclusion to do what works for me and step away from what doesn’t.

I started a new $25 cash gifting program on Monday that is a feeder for their $500 – $3500 program. So far they have exceeded what they guaranteed for paid sign-ups. If all goes well I’ll be gifting at the $500 level in a few days, and will be sharing the program here. There are no fees involved and so far it’s the only program I’ve found without any.
